Beverley Literature Festival

presents an exciting Summer preview of events including: walks in the East Riding countryside to help you explore how different ways of ‘reading’ the landscape can enrich your own writing, led by poet and archaeologist Peter Didsbury, and ecologist Kieran Sheehan (7 Jun, £8); Bernard O’Donoghue (St Mary’s Parish Hall, 7.30pm, £5); The ‘Classics’ Readers’ Day where four authors discuss their favourite books, featuring Bernard O’Donoghue, Nigel Forde, Robert Edric and Fiona Shaw. The morning will be divided into panel discussions and readers’ groups (Harbour Suite, Bridlington Spa, 10am-1pm, £5).

East Riding Readers Day

is a celebration of readers and reading. With its mix of small group discussions, focusing on books that are sent to you to read in advance, and large scale panel debates, you’ll leave the day with your head buzzing with ideas and lists of new books and authors that could change your reading life for good.
